Who Are You Calling a 'Dim Bulb'?
In Mark 7, Jesus tells the Pharisees to not be so 'dim'- meaning 'intentionally ignorant'. A lot of modern Christians fall into the same trouble the Pharisees did- CREATING new rules and better 'ways' to be a believer... forever looking for reasons to judge and look down on others... actually creating roadblocks to deepening a relationship with God! What's a Live Wire?
We were made by God to be a conduit of the Holy Spirit and a means of Grace (a delivery system of God's Love) to help make the world a better place! That's doesn't mean that we are superior or better than anyone else. It means that our job, as Christians (followers of Jesus) is to SERVE others. How would I 'overload my breaker'?
This world calls all of us to become masters of juggling everything at once. We 'plug' ourselves into too many activities, too many requirements, on too busy schedules. Eventually, something has got to give... and that 'thing' that overloads, is usually our brains! With Christ, you can begin to prioritize what is truly important in your life and what are the things that REALLY make a difference. How would I 'short circuit'?
I think we all get involved in choosing the wrong directions for our lives from time to time. Instead of choosing eating better, we choose junk food. Instead of choosing positive friends (who will help us be responsible), we choose to ally with friends who tell us what we want to hear. 'Short circuiting' is choosing a path that is self-destructive, instead of choosing a way that actually creates constructive results for our lives. Christ helps us CHOOSE wisely. Come hear some more! I Don't want to get hit with lightning!The problem is- that you already are getting hit with devastating and destructive forces all the time!
