What are your favorite memories of summer?  Cool drink on a hot day?  BBQ with the family?  Calm night beneath the summer stars?  In this Sermon Series, as we the recall the best parts of summer, we also take a walk through the poetic Psalms, that remind us of God's presence in each of those memories.  God is with us through our worst, and also our best times!  Come to Roscoe to enjoy the Psalms of Summer...  8:30am outside and 10:30am indoors (also live streamed on Facebook).  Tell a friend- and see you then!

Long, Hot Days

Do you recall those AWFUL, BEASTLY hot days of summer?  How about those stifling nights; trying to get to sleep?   We know that life can sometimes life can feel about as BEASTLY.  We feel like we are waiting on God for relief and every second seems to drag on for eternity!  Psalm 37 helps us to see our troubles differently.  Come get some relief!

Witness the Glory!

Sitting around a campfire on a summer's night with friends... seeing the glory of the stars above... feeling in total balance with nature and the universe... these are some amazing memories of summer.  Psalm 8 reminds us of both how very small we are, but also of our magnificent place in creation, through the gift of the Creator.  Come witness the Glory of our place in Creation!

Celebrate the Liberty

Our country was founded and developed by people who were looking for a nation built on the premises of Freedom and Liberty.  They were escaping the corrupt ideals of religious persecution and government theocracy (where the government and religion skip hand-in-hand down the street).  They had a different plan... and GOD had a better plan...  and that plans name was "America".  Come Celebrate the Liberty!

SO    THIRSTY !!

Those dreadfully dry days of summer!  Remember those moments in the middle of working outside, when some kind soul would offer you a break in the shade with an ice-cold drink?  OH MY GOODNESS!  In the same way, we don't always realized how very thirsty we are for God, until we are offered the chance to get a break from the world.  Come satisfy that thirst!

Family Bar-B-Que!

One of the BEST memories of summer is all the family, neighbors and friends gathering around for a shared BBQ!  Everyone bringing something to the party and everyone enjoying the fellowship.  Psalm 34 outlines the same idea when David (do you remember King David?) speaks about the safety and promise he has in the presence of God.  Come to Taste and SEE!

DANCE!

Not everyone like to dance.  (No- it's TRUE!)  Psalm 30 describes a joy that overcomes our soul and makes the world our dancefloor, when the Lord opens our hearts with such overwhelming JOY!  We become like children again- forgetting the panic of what other people might think- and DANCE TO THE LORD!  Come to forget about the awkwardness of the outside world and to find the song in your life again!
